Freakishly Happy

I can't choose Key West as my location? Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas, full of snow and love. :) I will be at work all day - yuck.

Tile and flooring shopping is one of the most painful activites on the face of the planet. Especially if you are with an overly enthusiastic person like my sister Juli, who can tile shop for 2.5+ hours at length.
This was at the tail end of a tile shopping extravagaza. The sales girl hated me (maybe because I dissed Aerosmith? mayhaps) and wouldn't answer any of my questions or attempts to be friendly, ba-humbug
It was painful. VERY painful. I think I lost quite a few braincells from boredom.

Hey all! It's been an insane week at the Eekhoff/Lee household!
We're both going to be graduating this weekend, John with his doctorate and me with my bachelors.
It was a little touch and go for me, as I didn’t receive my final grades from Germany until last week, and they the put them all in the wrong areas on my degree evaluation. It took an hour and a half with my advisor and a hope and prayer to get it all sorted out (not to mention an okay from the dean), but as usual I squeaked through at the last minute and am graduating!

We’re also looking into apartments. We’ve got two prospects right now, and are just waiting to hear back from one of the landlords, who is checking our references (and checking them twice) right now. More than likely we will be in a new place by Christmas!

John just found out this week that he was accepted as a software contractor for Rockwell Collins. All though it is going to be quite a commute to Cedar Rapids (a 35+ minute drive), he only has to work 20 hours a week and can spend the rest of the time working on an opportunity of his choice.

I am still happily employed as a pet counselor. I work with a great team of co-workers and I am having a lot of fun on the job. It’s a little crazy though to have gone from not working at all to working 50+ hours/ week. Hopefully things will calm down after the holidays.
