Captcha

Hey All,

I decided to try to re-open user registration for everyone to encourage people to create user accounts and leave comments. We had to shut it down a while back because we kept getting spammers creating accounts and leaving comments about all kinds of nastyness. In order to try to prevent this, I have added a captcha that requires all new users to go through several human-authentication steps. Hopefully the spammers don't just captcha their own accounts... If they do, we'll have to try to figure out something else, and I appoligize know for any future obscene comments. Any such comments will be removed as soon as possible.

I am also looking at installing several other systems to prevent spam, but am too busy contracting to deal with it at the present moment.

Talkin' 'Bout Last Night...

We're having a great time in Vermont.  For the last few weeks people keep saying that the foliage is at it's peak, but somehow it keeps managing to become even more beautiful by the day.

We spent the whold day yesterday in the company of friends - what a great way to spend the day!  We went out for lunch with our friend Jody fenton, and went to dinner as a family at our friend and neighbor Jason's house.

At 10:00 last night John realized that later on in the evening woould be the Orionid meteor shower, so we packed up our airmattress, pillows, sleeping bags and puppy and put on our warm clothes and headed out to the back meadow.  It was a lovely clear and crisp night.  We saw quite a few meteors. John saw many more than I did, because I always seemed to be looking in the wrong direction and kept falling asleep- but I really enjoyed seeing as many as I did.

We've got plans to go out again next month and in December for two more showers. Perhaps more blankets and heavier duty long-johns will be in order, as it got fairly chilly out there last night. Jorgi got a little bit huffy with us,  when she wasn't under any of the blankets, so I let her into my sleeping bag. Lucky for me, dogs have really high body temperatures, and she kept me warm all night.
